Absences

At Unique Care Academy, consistent attendance fuels your child’s growth, from their first giggles in Infants to their big wins in Kindergarten. Regular participation builds skills, routines, and friendships, and we’re here to partner with you to maximize every learning moment at all our locations.

Attendance Expectations

  • Operating Hours: We’re open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Children are expected to arrive by 9:00 AM for core programs (Infants through Kindergarten) to join morning activities, unless enrolled in After Care only.
  • Consistency: Regular attendance fosters routine and progress. We ask that children attend their scheduled days to maximize their development and group engagement.
  • After Care: For After Care students, arrival is expected within 30 minutes of their school dismissal unless prior arrangements are made.

Reporting Absences

  • Notification: Please inform us of any absence by 8:30 AM via the Procare portal, phone (call our office), or email. Include your child’s name, program, and reason for absence.
  • Planned Absences: For vacations or extended time away, notify us at least one week in advance to help us plan staffing and activities.
  • Illness: Keep your child home if they’re unwell (e.g., fever, contagious symptoms). Report the absence promptly, and follow our health guidelines for their return—typically 24 hours fever-free without medication.

Late Arrivals & Early Pickups

  • Late Drop-Off: If arriving after 9:00 AM, please check in at the front desk to ensure a smooth transition. Repeated late arrivals may disrupt group routines, so we appreciate your punctuality.
  • Early Pickup: Notify us in advance via Procare or phone if you’ll pick up before your child’s scheduled end time. All pickups must occur before 6:00 PM unless special arrangements are confirmed.

Consequences of Excessive Absences

  • Monitoring: We track attendance to support your child’s progress. After 5 unexcused absences in a 30-day period, we’ll reach out to discuss how we can help.
  • Program Spot: Consistent attendance secures your child’s place. Excessive absences (10+ unexcused days in a semester) without communication may risk their enrollment, as we maintain a waitlist for eager families. Tuition remains due regardless of attendance unless a withdrawal is processed.
