Unique Care Academy (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates uniquecareacademy.com (the “Site”) and provides early childhood education and childcare services in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and online forms.

This Site is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adults — not by children. We do not knowingly permit children to submit information through this Site.

Information we collect about enrolled children and families in the course of providing childcare services is governed by our enrollment agreement and applicable Florida childcare licensing requirements, not solely by this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

When you book a tour, join a waitlist, join an interest list, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Parent or guardian name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Your child’s date of birth or expected due date
  • Preferred start date and program of interest
  • Any additional information you choose to include in a message

Why we collect your child’s date of birth: solely to determine which program your child is eligible for (Infant, Toddler, Early Preschool, Preschool, VPK, or After-School) and to confirm eligibility for Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program, which is age-restricted by state law. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location (typically city-level)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on page, and links clicked
  • The website or advertisement that referred you
  • Cookies and similar technologies

2.3 Phone calls

If you call us, or if we call you in response to an inquiry, we may collect call details through a call-tracking service — the phone number, the date and time, the duration of the call, and which page or advertisement the call came from.

We use this to respond to you and to understand which parts of our Site and advertising help families find us.

We do not record the audio of telephone calls.

2.4 Information we do NOT collect on this Site

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or payment card information through this Site.

  • Determine program eligibility based on your child’s age
  • Add you to a waitlist or interest list at your request, and contact you when a space becomes available
  • Communicate with you about enrollment, registration deadlines (including VPK registration, which opens January 1), and our programs
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising
  • Comply with legal, licensing, and regulatory obligations

4. Communications and Your Consent to Be Contacted

Please read this section carefully.

When you submit a form on this Site, you are asking us to contact you. By providing your phone number and email address, you consent to receive calls, text messages, and emails from Unique Care Academy regarding your inquiry, tour, waitlist status, and enrollment.

  • We typically respond by phone shortly after receiving your inquiry.
  • Message and data rates may apply to text messages.
  • You may opt out at any time — reply STOP to text messages, click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or contact us at hi@uniquecareacademy.com.
  • Opting out of marketing messages does not prevent us from contacting you about an active inquiry or enrollment.
  • Your consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of enrollment in any program, including VPK.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Business transfer If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

6. Children’s Privacy

Protecting children is central to what we do.

  • This Site is directed to adults, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
  • Information about a child that appears on this Site is provided by a parent or guardian, not by the child.
  • If you believe a child has submitted information to us through this Site, contact us at hi@uniquecareacademy.com, and we will delete it promptly.
Photographs and video of children

We may publish photographs or video of children enrolled at Unique Care Academy on our website, social media, and marketing materials.

  • We publish images of a child only with the prior written permission of that child’s parent or guardian.
  • Permission is requested separately through our media release form — it is never assumed, and it is never a condition of enrollment.
  • You may withdraw permission at any time by contacting us at hi@uniquecareacademy.com. We will remove the image from materials we control going forward. Note that we may be unable to retrieve material already downloaded, shared, or cached by third parties.
  • We do not publish a child’s full name alongside their image.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising, including services provided by Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads).

These tools may allow us to show you our ads on other websites after you visit our Site, and to measure whether an ad led to a tour request.

8. Data Retention

We keep inquiry and waitlist information only as long as needed for the purposes described above:

  • Inquiries that don’t result in enrollment: 24 months, then deleted or anonymized
  • Waitlist and interest list entries: until you enroll, you ask to be removed, or the entry is no longer relevant (for example, your child ages past our programs)
  • Enrolled family records: as required by Florida childcare licensing and our enrollment agreement
  • Website analytics data: per the retention settings of our analytics provider

You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 9).

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Ask what information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your inquiry or waitlist information
  • Opt out of marketing emails, calls, and texts
  • Withdraw photo permission for your child
  • Control cookies through your browser and the opt-outs in our Cookie Policy

Some information must be retained where required by law or childcare licensing rules, even after a deletion request.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information submitted through this Site, including SSL/TLS encryption on all forms.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information (such as medical or financial details) through website forms or email.

If a security incident occurs

If we determine that personal information has been accessed or acquired without authorization, we will investigate promptly and notify affected individuals and any required authorities in accordance with applicable law, including the Florida Information Protection Act (Fla. Stat. § 501.171).

Florida law generally requires notification to affected individuals within 30 days of determining a breach occurred, and notification to the Florida Department of Legal Affairs where a breach affects 500 or more Floridians. We maintain procedures intended to meet these obligations.

Our Site may link to third-party sites, including the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County and Google. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Our services are offered in and directed to residents of Florida.

We will not retaliate against you for exercising any privacy choice or filing a complaint.

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If changes are significant, we will post a notice on the Site and, where required, notify you directly.

Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
