Welcome to Unique Care Academy (UCA)
We’re delighted to partner with you in nurturing your child’s growth, learning, and joy. Our programs—Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and AfterCare—offer a caring, stimulating, and secure environment where every child can thrive. This handbook outlines our policies, procedures, and values to guide you through your family’s journey with us. Please review it carefully and reach out with any questions.
Our Philosophy and Vision
At Unique Care Academy, every child is extraordinary. Our mission is to foster holistic development—academic, social, emotional, and physical—through hands-on exploration, creative play, and a nurturing community. We aim to build a strong foundation for lifelong success, partnering with families to celebrate each child’s unique potential.
Hours of Operation
- Regular Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Holiday Closures: We observe federal holidays and additional closures per our annual calendar, shared at the school year’s start.
- Late Pick-Up: A fee applies after 6:00 PM—details in your enrollment packet.
Attendance Policy
- Expectations: Core programs begin at 9:00 AM; After Care aligns with school dismissal. Regular attendance supports your child’s progress.
- Reporting Absences: Notify us by 8:30 AM via Procare, phone, or email with your child’s name, program, and reason. Excused absences (e.g., illness, medical visits) require a note; unexcused include vacations.
- Tardiness: After 9:00 AM, check in at the front desk. Three tardies equal one unexcused absence.
- Excessive Absences: We’ll connect after 5 unexcused absences in 30 days; 10 in a semester may risk enrollment.
Tuition and Payments
- What’s Covered: Tuition includes education, snacks, and materials.
- Schedule: Due Sundays via the Procare portal (card or ACH), 24/7. Late fees of $30 apply after the due date.
- Vacation Grace: Two weeks per year, pre-approved in writing two weeks ahead—no charge, no rollover.
- Extras: Registration fees, $30 returned payment fees, and 5% sibling discounts apply. Contact us for ELC/VPK assistance.
Health & Safety
- Illness: Stay home if symptomatic (fever, vomiting, etc.); return after 24 hours symptom-free without medication.
- Security: Secure entry and trained staff ensure safety. Update emergency contacts promptly.
Communication
Stay connected via Procare, monthly newsletters, emails, or posted notices. Join us for parent-teacher conferences and events!
Your Role
- Ensure timely attendance and pickups by 6:00 PM.
- Keep payments current and info updated in Procare.
- Collaborate with us to support your child’s growth.
